My wonderbag?? The name says it all. It truly is one of the most wonderful and amazing of inventions. I've been given so many compliments in the family for making my famous "Wonderbag Boeber", and they will always ask the most common question: "When did u make it again?" Lol. Then I have to relate again and again that I made it the afternoon after 4pm and stuck it in the bag, and wonders of wonders......piping hot boeber at 9pm, and a most interesting conversation piece around the fire. So yeah, I've fallen in love with a piece of sewn cloth filled with polystyrene. Lol. So that was the heat test. It retained its heat for hours, making it all the more glorious.
So what about keeping foodstuff cold, u say? Well, when my sisMardeeya Jattiem, stayed in Saldanha for a couple of months, we would visit her every few weekends. So, as per usual, we would take our meat/chicken with us. I would pack the frozen chicken/meat in the bag around 12pm, as we normally left before jumuah, make jumuah somewhere and leave for Saldanha afterwards. Now for those of u who have been there, it's a lekker long drive of about 1-2 hrs. So reaching there around 5-ish, the chicken/meat were still frozen solid.
U might be thinking: "Why does everyone seem to be raving about this bag?" Well, because it truly is one of those things which has multiple benefits. It's not like one of those "7-day-wonder" fads u would find on the Home Channel and in a few months something new pops up. No way, it's something that will stay for a long time to come. Only thing is, more people should try this out. It's worth it! I swear by my Le Creuset pots, as they know full well how it feels to be encapsulated by the humble polystyrene pebbles. They are always HOT!!! Lol.....
Atiyya wrote: i made a superb batch of homemade yoghurt this week in just 4 easy steps:
1.Boil milk (i used a litre).
2. Cool milk to lukewarm, remove skin.
3. Add 1tblsp to 1/4 cup of yogurt with live culture (the more you use, the quicker it develops, but 1tblsp is enough).
4. Place your pot with lid in wonderbag. Three hours later, I had yogurt and made a batch of scones. This was the quickest time ever to make yogurt, and it came out fabulous. No fancy yogurt maker needed. Cost for about 750 ml of yogurt was price of a litre of milk - beat that. And no stabilizers added at all.
Dilnawaaz Khan my favorite item in the wonderbag is creamy oats...boil up some oats in water cardamon, cinnamon sticks and half cup milk for 5 minutes on high heat put in wonderbag overnight...next morning super soft oats just the way we all love it. have also used it for akni (which used to come a flop before) and bean curries are nice n soft. cant wait for summer to take my wonder bags to the beach. one to keep the lunch warm from early morning till lunch time and one for the suckers and ice cream (no need to buy expensive ice creams along the way). oh and i'm making my yogurt in the wonderbag now Thanks Attiya

Cashiefa Cassiem aslm. 2 things i'd like to mention. 1stly, on Saturday i cooked a pot of akhni, put it in the wonderbag and off we went to Tulbagh for the day. when we arrived there, about 2 hours later. my akhni was fully cooked and still piping hot.
2ndly, we braaied on Sunday. Hubby put braaied meat and chicken in pot and into the Wonderbag. meat was tender and stayed warm.
i LOVE my wonderbag, must get another one soon
Tasneema Slamang Majiet I've been hearing so much about the wonder bag, I was truly amazed! I then decided to get me one and never looked back. I experimented with just about everything one could think of: from a lamb shoulder, to jungle oats , to breedies, to mince, chicken curry, to cinnabons lol, to even my first aknie attempt! MashaaAllah what a brilliant an essential “gadget" it has proven to be. My family is sooo tired of aknie an rice food, that's all I want to make these days lol. With the WB its easy an flop proof. The WB totally beats getting takeaways, its just easier to prepare a meal than order in! I love that my electricity bill is reduced an also that I have more time to spend with my kids. Seeing the faces of my guest when I tell them about the wonders of this awesome gadget, is priceless! I can't wait to order my second WB an the baba one too! I love my new “wonder life”.

I have been absent for a while, due to fb hacking/cloning of my account. I just had to steall time @ computer to say thank goodness for the wonderbag! I made my soup in it last night, left it overnight, added my soup bones and alphabet noodles this morning, gave it a boil and put it back into wonderbag. At iftaar time we could just dish up some deliciously smooth and warm soup, Alhamdoelillah. Tnx Fahmieda Barends for bringing this bag into my life. Saves so much tim+energy. I need a small one kanala!!!

Finally got my wonderbag and I must say I am amazed. Yesterday I cooked my food by 10am and put everything on the table ready for lunch after my hub come from Jumuah for lunch. And at 2 when I opened my wonderbag the food was piping hot... No need for using the microwave (the radiation is not good for us anyway). I used to use the microwave before....thanks a mil and happy wonderbagging

Shihaam Domingo "Using my Wonderbag for the first time today, let my cinnabon dough rise while I started the cauliflower breedie. Dough came out beautifully and doubled in size. When my kids came home from school they were both very excited to see the cinnabone made in the wonderbag and went to call their friends to come and see how we are cooking with no electricity. Can't wait to taste how the wonderbag retains the nutrients ."

Slm ladies. I have been busy this past week. Experimenting with my wonderbag. Made Mavrou Oooh delish. And pizza dough raised beautifully too. Made lamb curry and sugarbeans food and of course Eids leg of lamb was awesome too. All I need now is my 2nd bag and I won't do rice the old way ever again. Wow. I have to say just that extra effort to practice using the bag really pays off.

made lentils lamb curry in my wonderbag ..quick and yummy..............i soaked lentils for a few hours, braised meat with spices, tomato and garlic for about 10mins, threw in lentils (raw) and cook on high for abt 10-15mins then place in wonderbag for 2 or more hours.

Salaams ladies..
I have to share something awesome with u guys. My kids wanted twistees for boeka on Saturday. So after thuhr, I made on the mixture and after I kneeded it, I placed the sealed bowl in my Wonderbag.. After like 40 minutes, the dough had completely risen! I punched it down a little bit and made little balls. I let that rise for 15 minutes plus. I heated my oil, plaitted each golfball and fried it. It was super Awesome! My kids loved it! It got done so quickly as well, there was even enough time to share them with the neighbours and family. The rest I stuck in the freezer. Since I am a single working mom, this week is going to be an easy one, insha Allah ameen, as I can just take the twistees out of the freezer in the morning and come home and syrup them for boeka. My kids loving it!!!
