Lunchboxes
How about sprucing up those lunchboxes with some colourful green vegetables. Sweet Baby Carrots, Cucumber Sticks and to add a delicious Hummus to add in the extra protein. Make the Hummus from raw chickpeas with your Wonderbag. Save money and time and gain the benefit of nutrient packed raw legumes. You can make it in advance and store the cooked chick peas in freezer and make your weekly supply of Hummus when you remove from freezer. Recipe : Adapted from allrecipes.com 2 cups chick peas, drained 1/4 cup tahini 1/4 cup lemon juice 1 teaspoon salt 3 cloves garlic, halved 1 tablespoon olive oil 1 pinch paprika 1 teaspoon chilli powder (optional) Recipe can be changed according to taste(more or less chilli, lemon, tahini etc) 1. Soak the raw chick peas for 1 day or overnight. 2. Rinse and place in pot with water 3. Bring to boil and simmer for 30 minutes. 4. Leave in Wonderbag overnight. Place the chick peas, tahini, lemon juice, salt and garlic in a blender or food processor. Blend until smooth. Transfer mixture to a serving bowl. Drizzle olive oil over the bean mixture. Sprinkle with paprika and parsley. Serve as a dip with pita bread, cut up veggies. CE COLD WATERMELON AT THE BEACH anyone? Do you leave the Watermelon in the sea to keep it cold.
